The common reasons given for not believing the Bible

  1. The Bible contradicts itself
  2. The Bible was written by men, not by God
  3. The Bible is too old; it is no longer relevant
  4. I don't need the Bible, I have my own source of truth
  5. The Bible is just a bunch of stories

Truthfully, none of these reasons are valid.

The Reliability of the Bible

Can we trust the Bible?

Yes, the Bible that we have today is reliable and it can be trusted.  There are three tests which can be used for testing a document's validity.  These standards determine the authenticity and reliability of any ancient documents, including the Bible.  The tests are the external test, internal test, and bibliographic test.

Internal Test - What claims does the Bible make about itself?

External Test - What does outside evidence say about the Bible?

Bibliographic Test - Has the Bible been transmitted accurately?
